MindFire Communications is looking for a summer public relations intern for full-time work based in Le Claire, IA from June 5 to August 11, 2017. This is a paid internship.

The ideal candidate is outgoing with strong communication and organizational skills. The position includes writing, phone contact with clients and the public, project management and more.

We’re looking for someone who is inquisitive, a self-starter, a strong writer, social media-savvy and willing to go above and beyond to deliver high-quality results. Previous internship experience preferred.

Intern responsiblities

For the summer of 2017, MindFire is looking for a savvy, motivated intern interested in getting plenty of hands-on experience in public relations.

MindFire’s Public Relations Intern Arsonist will be responsible for key aspects of the implementation of a multimedia campaign that targets non-profit organizations.

  • Call non-profits and encourage them to register.
  • Confirm registrants qualify for contest.
  • Write copy in the form of press releases, social media posts, and marketing letters that promote the campaign.
  • Help non-profits understand how to use the marketing tools designed to help them get votes for their organization.
  • Document activity from each non-profit to demonstrate to our client how the campaign is building their brand awareness. This includes the creation of a campaign recap binder that showcases how the campaign was publicized throughout the media.
  • Track campaign metrics.

In addition to this project (which would look great in a portfolio) our Intern Arsonist will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across the agency, contributing to content development, social media, website development, client campaigns, event planning and more.
